Facility-requested visit·April 10, 2023

On 4/10/23 at 2:45pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Martha Malane conducted a follow-up case management inspection for the purpose of a capacity increase. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director, Jacquelyn Aguigui-Fajardo and was led on a tour of the facility. There were 12 children and two (2) staff members present. The facility is requesting a capacity increase to 50 preschool children, age 2 years - Kindergarten in rooms 1 and 2. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday 7:00am to 5:30pm. The indoor space was inspected and previously measured a total of 1783.78 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 50 children. Facility posted signs on the restrooms in the lobby area to ensure exclusive use during operating hours. The outdoor activity space was inspected and previously measured a total of 2,819.84 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 37 children. Additional outdoor activity space was added and measured a total of 1348.76 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 17 children. The total outdoor activity space measured 4168.60 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 55 children, however applicant is only requesting a capacity of 50 children. A fire clearance for 50 preschool children, age 2 years - Kindergarten was granted 2/13/23. The following is required: · Proof of the elementary school, Lighthouse Literacy Academy vacating room 2 · Proof the barricade to the additional outdoor space is safe and secure Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies were cited. Exit interview conducted with Director, Jackie Aguigui-Fajardo. Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30 days from today's date. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
