Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

It was also alleged that staff did not meet day care child's needs to use the bathroom and be comforted during the drop off. Interviews conducted revealed that children take turns to use the restroom. Sometimes teachers make children use a restroom at another classroom to accommodate the need. At times, children may have to wait until another teacher is present to provide the supervision to the bathroom area. LPA also learned that facility staff offer help to children during the drop off. As with all group care, there may be moments until a newly arriving child receives the attention of a staff member who is caring for a group of children and/or currently soothing another child. Based on the information obtained throughout the course of this investigation the above allegations, LPA Tjhia determined that the complaint was found to be UNSUBSTANTIATED, meaning although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur. Exit interview was conducted. A notice of site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
