What the inspector wrote

On July 15, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Deborah Khashe met with Licensee, Kimberly Weimer for the purpose of a Licensee initiated, Change of Capacity, to change the capacity from small license to large and for the purpose of an announced annual inspection. There were 08 children present at the time of inspection. Licensee\342\200\231s operating hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM. LPA reminded Licensee that the annual fees are due in August 2025. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limits areas include the entire the garage, master bedroom, and the far back area of the property. Off limit areas are being made inaccessible by closed locked doors, supervision, and childproof doorknobs. LPA observed the required postings and a working phone. 3A40BC fire extinguisher meets regulations. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and verified they were both functional. LPA toured the kitchen area and verified knives and cleaners were inaccessible to children in care. Licensee stated there are weapons and pets in the home. LPA verified that ammunition is stored in the locked garage and the firearms are locked in a gun safe in the master bedroom. Outdoor play space is not entirely fenced. Licensee was reminded that 100% supervision is required when children are playing in unfenced areas. LPA observed living room area with age-appropriate toys for children. LPA observed a restroom and verified that hazardous and toxic items were inaccessible to children in care. The backyard has an in-ground pool area that is fenced per Title 22 regulations and LPA observed the gate to self-close and self-latch. There are no windows or doors that provide direct access into the pool area. There is a pool in the backyard. The fence surrounding the pool area meets updated Title 22 regulation requirements, including pool alarm, rescue pole and life ring. Licensee has also installed a door alarm on sliding glass door that leads to backyard. Report continues 809-C LPA conducted record reviews during the inspection. Four children's, Licensee's, and staff's files were reviewed. LPA discussed mandated reporter training with the Licensee. Licensee has current Mandated Reporter Training on file which expires on 08/11/25. Licensee understands Mandated Reporter Training is to be completed every two years. Mandated reporter training can be accessed at www.mandatedreporterca.com . CPR/First Aid certification was reviewed for Licensee. Certification expiration date is 10/6/26. LPA observed fire drills were conducted at least once every six months and documented. This facility does not provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. In addition, LPA discussed the infant sleep regulations with licensee. LPA observed 15 min infant napping logs for infants 24 months and under. LPA observed the LIC 9227 Individual Sleeping Plan, for infants under 12 months, for licensee during today's inspection. On this date, 07/15/25, the California Attorney General - Megan\342\200\231s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. Report Continues on -LIC 809C.... Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee, Kimberly Weimer. Appeal Rights and Notice of Site Visit were provided. Notice of Site Visit must remain posted for 30 days. Effective today 07/15/2025, facility is approved for a Large Family Child Care License to serve 12 children (when there is an assistant present) with no more than 4 infants, or capacity of 14 children when 1 child is enrolled in Transitional Kindergarten or above and 1 child at least age 6 with a maximum of 3 infants. Without assistant, the ratios revert to those for small family childcare home. In the areas that were evaluated, no deficiencies were cited during today\342\200\231s inspection.
