Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Bettina Engelman, and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stacey Williams met with Director Alicia Neves and Licensee, Shantel Marrero , for the purpose of an Informal Office Meeting. LPM Engelman defined the difference between a Non-Compliance and an Informal Meeting. LPM advised Ms. Neves that the purpose of today’s meeting is to help provider gain compliance. Today's informal meeting was to discuss the Type A citation issued on 08. 16. 2024 for an absence of supervision. The facility was cited due to two children child (C1 and C2) being left outside for approximately one minute per the incident report submitted to Community Care Licensing. The Director stated that they have taken the following steps to maintain compliance: 1. Director stated they conducted staff training on doing "name to face" as head counts for every transition of the daily schedule. 2. Director stated that staff are aware of the requirement to seek assistance from staff if additional staff is needed to transition from outside to the classroom. 3. Staff were reminded to complete a full check of the playground, including underneath the structure prior to transition into the classroom. LPA and LPM reviewed regulations on Supervision. LPM and LPA provided information regarding training videos on Supervision and the Technical Support Program (TSP), which is a non-enforcement arm of the Community Care Licensing Division offering onsite support to licensees and providers. LPA discussed using the Department website (ccld.ca.gov) for child care updates, legislation, forms and regulation information.
