What the inspector wrote

On January 30, 2026, at 9:50 AM Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Sarah Tibbett and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Bettina Engelman conducted a visit at Shazia Khan's day care facility for the purpose of making an additional living room an on limits area. The additional living room used to be a patio and now is an addition to the main home and fully enclosed. During the visit LPA observed 7 children present in the home. The living room was in use by children during the inspection today, before prior approval from the Department. During the inspection of the additional living room, the LPA and LPM determined the living room was safe for children. Licensee Khan also asked licensing staff to approve the use of the Master Bedroom. Living room and Master Bedroom usage is approved effective today 1/30/26. Licensee shall submit an updated Facility Sketch to the Department, so that an updated fire clearance can be obtained. LPA Tibbett informed Licensee, Shazia Khan, that this report dated 1/30/2026, documents 1 Type-B citation during today’s inspection. An exit interview was conducted. Appeal rights were given and a notice of site visit was posted by the LPA and must remain posted for 30 days.
