Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Centralized Application Bureau (CAB) Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Alecia Sifuentes met with Director of Early Education, Kim Ballard for the purpose of a case management inspection. Licensee requests a change of capacity for the preschool component for 17 preschool children and add a toddler component for 5 toddlers. The fire clearance (STD850) was granted and received on 1/2/2024. The program currently operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There is one classroom divided between the preschool program and the toddler program. LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, cubbies, and napping cots. LPA measured the preschool activity space and the toddler activity space. The preschool classroom contains a total of 596 square feet and the toddler classroom contains a total of 496 square feet, which will accommodate Licensee\342\200\231s request for 17 preschool children and 5 toddlers. There is 1 toilet and 1 sink located in the preschool classroom and 1 toilet and 1 sink located in the toddler classroom. There is a separate restroom for staff located in the hallway. OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There is one outdoor yard. Licensee has requested a Shared Outdoor Space Waiver for the preschool and toddler children to utilize the same yard. The play structure is approved for ages 2 to 5 years. Director understands that children under the age of two years cannot utilize the structure. LPA observed two outdoor schedules showing no commingling between the age groups. Director stated that there has been no changes of the outdoor activity space since licensure. LPA used current outdoor measurements from report dated 7/19/2018, therefore LPA did not take measurements. The outdoor activity space contains a total of 2,886 square feet, which will accommodate Licensee\342\200\231s request for 17 preschool children and 5 toddlers. Report continues on LIC809-C.
