What the inspector wrote

Application Specialist (AS) Alecia Sifuentes and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stacey Williams met with Licensee, Nagamani (Nikki) Yelam and Director, Poonam Sharma for the purpose of a case management inspection. Licensee requests a change of capacity to serve 95 preschool children from age two to entry into first grade. The program currently operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: Licensee is adding two addition classrooms for a total of four preschool classrooms. AS observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, cubbies, and napping cots. AS measured the additional classrooms to add to the current square footage. The total classroom space contains a total of 3,338 square feet, which will accommodate Licensee's request for 95 preschool children. There are 8 toilets, 2 urinals, and 12 sinks for the children, and a separate private restroom for the staff. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024). OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There is one outdoor area on the property. AS used current outdoor measurements. The outdoor play area contains a total of 8,655 square feet, which will accommodate Licensee\342\200\231s request for 95 preschool children. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Report continues on LIC809-C. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Nikki Yelam. The following items are required before the change of capacity will be approved: 1. Granted fire clearance (STD850)
