What the inspector wrote

On 04/17/25, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Elvira Sierra and Stacey Williams met with facility Director, Ivy Stinson for an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. Facility is a combination center with an infant and a school age license on site. Preschool program operates in three classrooms (Pre-kindergarten,Preschool and Jr. Preschool) M-F from 07:30 am to 05:30pm. Present during the visit were five staff caring for 36 preschool children. Facility complies with staff-children ratios required by regulation. Facility was inspected indoors and outdoors for Health and Safety hazards and the following was observed; Classrooms are adequately ventilated/heated and the floors appeared clean throughout the facility. Classrooms have age appropriate toys and equipment that are in good repair. Restrooms are maintained clean, in good repair and with adequate supplies. Cleaning products and Toxins are maintained inaccessible to children. Facility has more than one functioning carbon monoxide and smoke detector and two 2A:10-B:C fire extinguisher in the kitchen and one in the great room area. Per facility representative there are no poisons in the premises and no bodies of water were observed. Playground equipment is in good condition free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. LPAs advised facility representative to replenish the bark under and around playground equipment, and slides. Drinking water is readily available both indoors and outdoors by water fountains and water pitchers and disposable cups. Facility provides meals and snacks. Menus were posted accessible to parents. All posting requirements has been met. Last emergency/disaster drill was conducted on 03/25 and facility does keep a log documenting drill practice. LPAs reviewed several children's and staff files and current CPR/ First aid card for staff. Sign in/out were reviewed. Report continues on subsequent page 809C-- Facility representative w as reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. For childcare center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP . Testing Expiration Date: Lead Testing documents will be provided via email to LPA. According to documents provided on today's visit Lead testing in Water was done in 2022. Facility representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
