Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Centralized Application Bureau (CAB) Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Alecia Sifuentes and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvira Sierra met with Director Ivy Stinson for the purpose of a case management inspection. Licensee requests a decrease in capacity to 52 preschool children ages two years to entry into kindergarten. The program currently operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There are four preschool classrooms located in PS Rooms #1, #2, #3, and Multipurpose Room (MPR - small area). LPA did not observe a four foot tall wall partition separating the MPR between the preschool program from the school-age program. LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, cubbies, and napping cots. LPA used current measurements from report dated 3/16/2022, therefore LPA did not take measurements of PS Rooms #1, #2, and #3. LPA measured the MPR due to the Licensee separating the MPR for the school-age children to utilize the MPR (large area) and the preschool children to utilize the MPR (small area). The total preschool classroom spaces contain a total of 1,761 square feet, which will only accommodate 50 preschool children. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024). OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There is one preschool outdoor area on the property. LPA used current measurements from report dated 6/15/2021, therefore LPA did not take measurements. The preschool outdoor activity space contains a total of 3,495 square feet, which will only accommodate 46 preschool children. LPA observed a current Insufficient Outdoor Space Waiver on file. Report continues on LIC809-C. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director Ivy Stinson. The follow items are required before the change of capacity will be approved: 1. Amended Application (LIC200A) reflecting 50 preschool children. 2. Granted Fire Clearance (STD850). 3. Proof of four-foot-tall wall partition separating the preschool & school-age MPR area.
