Centralized Application Bureau (CAB) Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Alecia Sifuentes and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stacey Williams met with Licensee Pradeesh Thomas and Director Melanie Sandoval for the purpose of a case management inspection. Licensee requests a change of capacity for the preschool component for 174 preschool children ages two years to entry into kindergarten. The fire clearance (STD850) was granted and received on 2/5/2024. The program currently operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There are seven preschool classrooms located in PS Rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6/7. LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, cubbies, and napping cots. LPA used current measurements from reports dated 7/6/2022, therefore LPA did not take measurements. The preschool classrooms contain a total of 6,162 square feet, which will accommodate Licensee’s request for 174 preschool children. There are two toilets and two sinks located in each preschool classroom giving a total of 14 toilets and 14 sinks. There is a separate restroom for staff located down the hallway towards the toddler classroom. OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There is one infant yard, one toddler yard, and one preschool yard. LPA observed a current Shared Outdoor Space Waiver on file allowing the preschool children to utilize the toddler yard. Licensee has requested an updated waiver for the preschool children to also utilize the infant yard. Licensee provided LPA with outdoor scheduled times showing no commingling between the age groups. LPA used current measurements from reports dated 7/6/2022, therefore LPA did not take measurements. The outdoor activity spaces contain a total of 13,461 square feet, which will accommodate Licensee’s request for 174 preschool children. Report continues on LIC809-C. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Effective today, 2/13/2024, LPA will approve the change of capacity for 174 preschool children.
