On 4/24/2025 at 9:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced Case Management Inspection of Peace Christian Pre School. LPA met with Child Care Center Director (CCC) Doris Angel and discussed the purpose of the inspection. There were total of 33 children and 5 Staff members present including the Director. On 3/21/2025, CCC Director self reported an incident regarding a child who was left unsupervised in a classroom during a transition period. Based on the incident report, on 3/20/2025, a parent of another day care child (referred to as Adult #1) arrived for a child pick up when Adult #1 found Child # 1 alone in classroom # 7. The rest of the class had transitioned to the playground under the supervision of Staff # 1. Adult # 1 brought the child to a nearby teacher who was in the playground, referred to as Staff# 2 who then reported the incident to the director Ms. Doris Angel. During today's inspection, LPA interviewed Staff #2 who stated as follows: At the time of the incident, staff #2 was in the playground monitoring another group of children near Room # 7. Staff # 2 observed Staff #1 had taken the group from Room no. 7 outside around 3:57 PM. According to Staff # 2, Staff # 2 later became aware of the incident when Adult # 1 brought Child # 1 to Staff # 2. Staff # 2 noted that Child # 1 appeared calm and physically unharmed and was happy rejoining the class. Staff # 2 estimated that Child # 1 had been left inside the classroom for about 8 to 10 minutes before being discovered. Based on the incident report, Staff # 1 was terminated on 3/21/2025 following the incident. LPA obtained the contact information of Staff # 1 and Adult # 2 who found the children in the classroom for interview purposes. No deficiency was cited today. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director Doris Angel. Notice of site Visit was issued and must remain posted for 30 days.
