What the inspector wrote

On 1/25/2022 at 1:01 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced Required Annual Inspection Prior to inspection, LPA asked pre screening questions related to COVID 19, Licensee's responses indicate there was no COVID exposure on site. LPA met with Licensee and explained the nature of the inspection. There were children present during the inspection. The center operates from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday thru Friday. LPA observed Licensing required forms were posted prominently on the wall by the entrance door . The classroom is adequately equipped with age and size appropriate furniture and equipment. LPA observed and reviewed the posted snack menu. The center provides 2 snacks daily to children in care. The outdoor playground is enclosed by a 6 feet no climb fence and partial wooden fence. There are appropriate toys and equipment. The playground has an ample amount of shade available. The center has water available for children inside and out. Carbon monoxide detector was present and found functional. Center uses written sign-in/out logs at the entrance of the facility. A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed. Teachers qualifications were verified. All staff present have current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificates that expire on 10/13/2023. Teachers present have current AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificates that expire on 11/9/2023. LPA verified Child Care Adult Immunization per SB 792 and Tuberculosis Requirements. Facility is following current Covid-19 guidelines. No deficiencies were cited during today's visit. The Center is not providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS). IMS policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director, Julie Soto.
