On 8/11/21, at 11:45 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced Required Inspection of the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Ruby Alcantar, Site Supervisor, of the CCC and explained the purpose of the Inspection. LPA in the company of the Supervisor toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday. The CCC is a Infant program with a toddler option . LPA observed no children on site as the CCC is closed, however eight teacher are present (cleared and associated). The CCC is clean, orderly and well organized. The CCC has ventilation, as well as heating, to afford for child care. LPA observed age appropriate toys and furnishings throughout the CCC. The CCC was four cribs on site, however supervisor informed LPA additional cribs are available should the need arise. Napping cots are on site and also available for the children's various levels of mobility. LPA observed multiple carbon monoxide detectors on site. A detector was tested at 12:05 PM and found to be operable. The CCC's bathroom is in safe and sanitary operating condition. Additionally, change tables are available with a sink within arm's reach. The CCC has an operable refrigerator. The refrigerator houses children's food and formula. Additionally, the CCC provides the children in care bottled water. The CCC provides snacks and lunches for older children capable of eating. LPA observed menus posted in the classrooms. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are secure in a cabinet in the kitchen area which is inaccessible to children in care. There is no medication on site, however the Supervisor informed LPA medication is stored in a secure location in the kitchen area when on site. Licensing required notices and documents are observed affixed to the CCC's wall near the exit door. Sign In/Out forms are maintained for each individual child. The CCC has an outdoor play area for both infants and toddlers. The area is partitioned by chain linked (CONT. 809-C) fencing to create space for each group. LPA observed age appropriate toys/play equipment in the play area. The toys/play equipment are free of sharp, loose or pointed objects. There is ample shade provided in the outdoor play area created by coverings. Play structures also have ample material at the base for cushioning. Three locked sheds are in the outdoor play area. The sheds contain center supplies and equipment. No bodies of water were observed on site. Children's record were randomly review and found complete. LPA observed sleep plans as well as sleep logs completed in 15 minute intervals. Staff CPR/ First Aid and Mandated Reporter certifications are current. . Supervisor informed LPA no firearms or ammunition is on site. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services (IMS). LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Supervisor is reminded that it is Supervisor's responsibility to know the regulations for CCC which can be accessed on-line at www.ccld.ca.gov . In areas evaluated, no deficiencies observed.
