What the inspector wrote

On October 17, 2022 at 11:35 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Francisco Pedroza conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPA met with facility Director Bridget Miles and advised her the purpose of the inspection. Director provided LPA a tour of the facility inside and out. There were no children in care at the time of the inspection. Facility hours of operation are Monday thru Friday 7:00 AM - 9:50 AM and 12:00 PM - 2:45 PM. This is a combined facility with a preschool program. Facility is located on a local elementary school site. The facility has two (2) classrooms that they use for children in care. LPA observed required licensing documents posted prominently on the wall within view. The facility uses the school site restrooms for children. School janitorial staff clean the restrooms daily. Facility provides children one afternoon snack. Children have the option to bring their own lunch from home or get a hot lunch from the school cafeteria. LPA did not observed any hazards/toxins accessible to children in care. LPA observed the facility has enough age appropriate toys, activities, and furniture available for the children. The facility uses the school outdoor recreation yards. Children have access to the black top and school playground. Facility has water available for children inside and out. LPA observed a sampling of children and staff records. Children files were found to be current and complete. Facility staff record(s) were found to be current and complete. Teacher(s) meet the required qualifications. Teacher(s) have current Pediatric CPR/First-aid certificate. No deficiencies were cited during today's inspection. Continued on 809-C Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
