What the inspector wrote

On January 16, 2024, at 9:50 AM Licensing Program Analyst, (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for a change of capacity. During the inspection, the Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) met with Licensee/applicant, Adela Vences, assistant, Mario Barrueta, applicant's mother and a care provider. LPA explained the purpose and scope of the visit. There was only one child present during the inspection. Family Child Care Home (FCCH) hours of operation is Monday to Friday, 5:30 AM to 5:30PM LPA and applicant toured the home. LPA observed that both the interior and exterior specifically the day care area were free of hazardous materials and/or toxins at the time of the inspection. Family Child Care Home (FCCH) utilizes the living room for napping and playing, garage for other day care activities and fenced backyard. LPA reviewed applicant's file, First Aid/CPR certification was verified which will expire on 3/11/2025. Fire Extinguisher was purchased on 12/6/2023. Applicant's and Assistant's Mandated Reporter Training was completed on 3/12/2023. Applicant stated there are no guns or ammunition in the home. No bodies of water was observed. On December 14, 2023, Licensee/Applicant submitted an application for a change of capacity. The proposed change is to increase the Family Child Care Home's (FCCH) capacity from 8 to 14. Fire clearance was granted on 12/20/2023 Continued on LIC 809C Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP . When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with applicant, and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: htttps://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep , as an additional resource. LPA also informed applicant of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/ , and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Continued on LIC 809C On this date, 1/16/2024 the California Attorney General - Megan\342\200\231s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. Applicant was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms. To receive important licensed related information to licensed facilities, visit the CCLD Important Information website at https:// www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-care-licensing/subscribe and select the Child Care option to receive email communication. No concerns were identified during the inspection. Home meets the requirements of Title 22 Division 12. Large FCCH License is granted effective today 1/16/2024. A notice of site visit was given to applicant, and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
