What the inspector wrote

On August 7 th , 2023, at 12:38PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rosie Breault conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Case Management inspection. LPA met with administrator Hilary Soldati and explained the purpose of the inspection. Administrator provided LPA a tour of the facility inside and out. At the time of the inspection, school was on summer break with zero (0) children present. This is a combination center with a preschool program. School to reopen Tuesday 9/5/2023. During school session, facility utilizes one (1) classroom (classroom #15) and applied for an increase in capacity to add classroom #16 for care and supervision. Facility requested capacity to increase from current license of 21 to 42 children. LPA observed sufficient toilets and sinks available for children, classroom to have ample ventilation, age-appropriate activities, equipment, and outdoor play yard to have ample space, permitter fencing, free of debris, and separated from preschool play yard. LPA observed fire extinguisher to be last serviced on 7/18/2023 and carbon monoxide detector was tested at 1:26PM and functioning at the time of the inspection. At the time of the inspection, no bodies of water were present. San Luis Obispo Fire Marshall conducted an inspection on 12/7/2022 and cleared capacity for 42 children. This facility meets Title 22 Division 12 requirements for a capacity of 42 children effective today 8/7/2023. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. THE NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS POSTED AS REQUIRED BY H&S CODE SEC. 1596.817. THE NOTICE OF SITE VISIT MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS OR A CIVIL PENALTY OF $100.00 WILL APPLY.
