On May 19, 2025 at 11:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced Annual Random inspection of the above Family Child Care Home (FCCH) and met with Licensee, Tamara Courtney. LPA discussed the purpose of the inspection. FCCH operating hours Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Licensee provides care to children aged 0 to 4 years old. During the inspection, LPA and Licensee toured the home inside and outside. There were 4 napping children present. Areas accessible to children are 2-day care rooms, 2 bedrooms, one bathroom and fenced backyard. Home is observed to be clean and orderly. Bathroom is free of toxins. The required licensing forms are posted in the prominent location. LPA observed age-appropriate toys, equipment, play pen and napping mats inside the home. Age appropriated toys and play structure were also observed in the fenced backyard. The outdoor space is free of any tripping hazards. Knives and cleaning materials are stored inaccessible to the children in care. LPA reviewed the facility file and found that the Pediatric CPR and First Aid certificate expires 3/22/2027, Mandated Reporter Training Certificate expires on 3/27/2026. LPA reminded Licensee that it is their responsibility to renew the certificates every two years. The regulation fire extinguisher was purchased on 2/1/2025. LPA observed the carbon monoxide and smoke detectors in the home. FCCH conducts fire and disaster drill every month 6 months and last drill was conducted on 2/3/2025. Nobodies of water was observed. Licensee confirmed there are no firearms and ammunition in the home. LPA reviewed children\342\200\231s files and found completed. Licensee check and documents napping infant every 15 minutes. Individual Safe Sleep Plan is completed for infants 0-12 months. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Licensee, Tamara Courtney was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee, the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP . During the exit interview, the LICENSEE, Tamara Courtney confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
