Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

As part of the investigation, LPA interviewed Child # 1 who stated that Director pulled C1's ear when C1 was not paying attention. When C1 was asked if C1 likes going to CCC C1 initially responded no because it was boring, but as the the interview went on C1 expressed that C1 enjoys attending the CCC. Child #2 was not available for interview. LPA also interviewed 3 other day care children, Child # 8, child # 9 and Child # 10 who were asked how does the staff member discipline a child that misbehave. Children stated that if they make wrong choices, they have to go to the magnet board and sit down. The children who were interviewed love attending the CCC and they added that no teachers have physically harm them and they have not seen teachers that harm any day care children. LPA also interviewed the Director and 3 staff members on the discipline protocol and all of the staff responded that at first, they address the behavior with the child to understand the reason for such behavior and help the child understand the impact of their actions. Staff members implement redirection and open communication. Director denied the allegation of pulling C1's 1 and grabbing C2's chin.LPA interviewed parents of currently and preciously enrolled day care children, none of the parents corroborated with the allegations. They are satisfied with the care and supervision their children receive/d from CCC staff members Although the above allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is Unsubstantiated. Appeal rights were given and explained. Notice of Site Visit has been posted (LIC9213). The notice shall be posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a $100.00 civil penalty. Report was reviewed and exit interview was conducted with Director, Kelsey Sullivan.
