This was a required and comprehensive inspection. On March 11 at 12:30 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced Annual/Required inspection of the above Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Licensee, Irma Salguero and explained the purpose of the inspection. The FCCH operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The Licensee provides care for children ages 0 to 13 years old. LPA observed that the licensee is not caring for infants at this time because no infants are currently enrolled. During the inspection, LPA observed four (4) day care children, all toddlers. It was also observed during the inspection that two school age children were dropped off by the school bus and one parent, and one child was picked up by the mother, bringing the total number of children in care to five (5). The areas accessible to children include the open-space living room, kitchen, dining area, one bedroom designated for napping, and the fenced backyard. All other areas of the home are made inaccessible to children. The home, including the bathroom and backyard, was observed to be free of hazards at the time of the inspection. Required licensing postings were observed near the entry door. LPA observed age-appropriate toys and equipment inside the home, including playpens and napping mats. The outdoor area is fully fenced and equipped with age-appropriate play structures and toys. LPA reviewed the facility file. Licensee\342\200\231s training certificates are current. The Pediatric CPR and First Aid certificate expires on 5/27/2027, and the Mandated Reporter Training Certificate expires on 10/7/2026. LPA reminded the Licensee that it is their responsibility to renew these certificates every two years. The regulation fire extinguisher was serviced on 8/5/2025. The carbon monoxide and smoke detectors were tested and found to be functional. The FCCH conducts fire and disaster drills every four months, with the last drill conducted on 2/18/2026. Licensee confirmed that there are no firearms or ammunition in the home. LPA reviewed the children\342\200\231s files and found them complete. Each file contained the Acknowledgement Receipt (LIC 9224) for the office meeting held on 2/27/2025. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee, the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee is not providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS). IMS policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the LICENSEE, Irma Salguero confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. During today\342\200\231s inspection, no deficiency was cited. Notice of Site Visit was issued and must be posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Irma Salguero. The inspection and report were translated in Spanish using the Translation Application platform.
