Routine inspection (3-year)·January 30, 2026

On 1/30/26, at 11:10 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Matthew Sapien and Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced required three year inspection at the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPAs met with Shanna Ray, School Principal, and explained the nature and purpose of the inspection. Importantly to note, the CCC is on the grounds of Cappy Culver Elementary School. The current hours of operation for the CCC are Monday through Friday 2:45 PM until 6:00 PM. On Wednesdays, however, operational hours are 1:10 PM until 6:00 PM due to early release from school. LPAs toured the CCC. According to the facility sketch and pre-licensing inspection condcuted on 8/12/22, the CCC utilizes the following: three classrooms (102, 103, and 104), multipurpose room, library, computer lab, restrooms (6 bathrooms; 3 boys and 3 girls, school blacktop with basketball courts, handball walls, and a large grass area with a playground structure. During the inspection, the School Principal, Shanna Ray, informed LPA that the KCE Champions program at Cappy Culver Elementary School is operational, however, is currently "license exempt" due to falling under the After School Education and Safety (ASES) Program and Extended Learning Opportunities (ELOP) Program. LPAs obtained documentation from the School Secretary, Hailie Abel, and School Principal, Shanna Ray, to prove such funding and exempt status. Exit interview was conducted and the report was reviewed with School Principal, Shanna Ray. A notice of site visit from (LIC 9213) and a copy of Appeal Rights (LIC9058) were given. The notice of site visit from must be posted prominently for 30 days in the facility or a Civil Penalty of $100 per day may apply.
