Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 12/18/24, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conduct an unannounced Plan of Correction inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH) to address deficiencies cited during an Annual Random Inspection of the facility completed on 9/10/24. Specifically, LPA is to check the corrections made to the unfenced slope area near the outdoor play area descending to a creek as well as the removal of an above ground swimming pool and an adult trampoline. It should be noted Licensee provided LPA photographs of the pool being drained, disassembled and removed from the premises on 9/11/24. LPA met with Leentje Lakeman, Licensee of the FCCH, and explained the nature and purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. LPA also discussed the corrections with the Licensee. LPA observed fencing at the slope area near the outdoor play area descending to a creek which extended across the northern section of the property. The fencing formed a barrier between the play area and the descending slope. Further, the fencing consisted of plastic mesh and metal (pole) stakes. LPA informed Licensee the fencing should be regularly inspected by Licensee to ensure the fence's integrity. LPA did not see a swimming pool on site. Licensee informed LPA the swimming pool was removed following the 9/10/24, facility inspection. LPA did observe a trampoline on the property. The trampoline was face down, unusable and under a car port behind vehicles. Licensee informed LPA the trampoline is not used by children in care or others in the home. Licensee informed LPA the trampoline will be secured and fenced if placed upright and still not used by children in care. LPA provided the Licensee with deficiency correction letters. There are no deficiencies cited during today's inspection. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee Leentje Lakeman.
