What the inspector wrote

On August 25, 2025 at 11:50 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi conducted an unannounced Annual Random inspection of the above Family Childcare Home (FCCH) and met with Licensee Adriana. LPA discussed the purpose of the inspection. FCCH operates Monday to Friday, 5:30 AM to 4:30 PM The licensee provides care for children aged 3 years old to 11 years old. Licensee\342\200\231s assistant Jesus Aiden Guevarra arrived at 12:40 PM LPA in the company of Licensee toured the home and observed two-day care children. The FCCH operates on the basement/bottom level of the 4-level home. This level is fully set up for child care use and includes a kitchenette. The bathroom is located on the second floor of the home. The Licensee accompanies children when using the bathroom. Drop off and pick up of children take place on the left side of the home, allowing a direct access to the day care area without passing through the main home. The backyard is fully fenced equipped with age-appropriate toys and play equipment. The day care room is also equipped with age-appropriate toys, equipment, books. The rest of the homes are off limit to day care children. Sharps, cleansers and medication are stored in the area inaccessible to children in care. No bodies of water were observed. The Licensee confirmed there are no guns or ammunition in the home. Fire extinguisher was purchased last July 27, 2024. Dual carbon and smoke detector were observed in the home. FCCH conducts fire and disaster drill every 6 months, ast drill was conducted on 3/25/2025 Children\342\200\231s files were reviewed and found complete. Facility file was reviewed. Licensee and assistant have current Pediatric and Adult First Aid and CPR certificate which is valid until 1/20/2027. Mandated Reporter training is valid until 10/11/2026. FCCH does not have a current Children\342\200\231s roster. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee, the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee is not providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS). IMS policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. During today's inspection, deficiency was cited under Title 22 Division 12 and Technical Violation were also issued. A notice of site visit was given to Licensee and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
