What the inspector wrote

On 10/29/2025 at 9:00 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced Case Management/Capacity Increase Inspection at the above Family Child Care Home. (FCCH) to increase the capacity. LPA met with Licensee/applicant, Mona Leyva and discussed the purpose of the inspection. Applicant/Licensee operates from Monday to Friday from 5:30 AM to 5:30 PM and provides care to children between the age of 0 month to 13 years old. The daycare uses the living room, kitchen, dining, one (1) bathroom and the fenced backyard. Control of Property was reviewed. On August 13, 2025, Applicant/Licensee submitted an application to Community Care Licensing (CCL) requesting an increase in FCCH capacity from 8 to 14 day care children. On October 28, 2025, San Luis Obispo County Fire Department granted the safety clearance as required for capacity increase . Regarding the additional un permitted room attached to the dining/kitchen area that LPA pointed out to the Fire Department. The Fire Inspector stated that they did not see any issue and had no concern about it. The added room is not accessible to children. The route of travel from dining/kitchen area leading to the unpermitted room is very minimal which provides direct access to to get to the backyard. The FCCH has a regulation fire extinguisher (3A:40-B:C) that was serviced on 03/13/2025 . Dual carbon monoxide and smoke detector was observed in the hallway. During today's inspection, no deficiency was cited. Large Family Child Care Home License (capacity of 14) was granted and effective today, 10/29/2025 Notice of Site Visit was issued and must remain posted for 30 days.
