What the inspector wrote

On July 24, 2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Katie Krenn arrived at the facility to conduct an unannounced annual Inspection. LPA met with the Director Ms. Kathleen O'Malley and explained the purpose of today's visit. There were seven teachers supervising 23 preschool children. The facility remains within its capacity limits and meets the required ratios for today\342\200\231s visit. LPA confirmed that all teachers present during the visit had obtained criminal record clearance. The facility operates Monday through Friday from 8:30AM - 5:30PM in the summer. There are no pools, spas, pond, or bodies of water on the property. LPA reviewed a sample of children's files from each of the three classrooms. All the files reviewed had their emergency contact and medical information were complete and in order. No missing documentation. LPA observed that all required documents: such as the facility license, notification of parents\342\200\231 rights, personal rights, car seat laws, and emergency disaster plan, were displayed and visible to the public. LPA observed that children are signed in and out of the facility with parents' and caregivers' signatures. LPA observed classroom to be clean and equipped with age-appropriate toys, furniture, and educational materials. Storage for children's belongings are located inside the classroom, each child has a cubby labeled with their name. Electrical outlets were fitted with child safety covers to prevent children's access. There are three bathrooms, one for each class. LPA observed that each bathroom was equipped with at least two toilets and two faucets. LPA observed the bathrooms to be clean, fully operational, and equipped with suitable toileting equipment and sanitation products. Staff use a separate bathroom that is kept inaccessible to the children. continued on page 2 Page 2 The facility offers mats for children to rest or nap. LPA observed that clean sheets and blankets were available for the children. Per the Director the bedding is provided by the facility and washed on site at least weekly. LPA observes a washer and dryer in the facility. The outdoor playground play equipment is in good condition and does not have sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The areas around and under climbing equipment and slides are cushioned with tanbark. LPA observed that the sandbox is covered when not in use. To improve the quality and value of the inspection process, a survey will be sent to the email address provided. Please complete the survey and share your inspection experience. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. No citations were issued during today's visit. This visit will be completed at a later date. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the director, Kathleen O'Malley.
