What the inspector wrote

On 7/23/2025, at approximately 8:45 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Wadhwa and Leong arrived at the facility to conduct a pre-planned case management inspection for an increase of capacity and room addition. LPAs met with Childcare Supervisor, Mindy Tiet and Site Coordinator, Majdallen Musleh, and Recreation Supervisor, Tracy Gilbert. Facility has requested to increase capacity from 150 to 190 children and to add Room # 6. Present at the facility today are 51 school-age children with 5 staff (including the Site coordinator). All staff members present today at the facility are fingerprint cleared. The program currently operates Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Facility is currently operating out of five portables of the Vallemar Elementary School. Facility is currently licensed for 150 children in portables #1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Per Health & Safety Code 1596.806, LPAs did not conduct any measurements of new room “Room #6” to be added, today. Fire clearance for the new room addition was obtained on 7/8/2025. The facility has one bathroom in portables # 1, 3, 4, and 5 and two bathrooms in portable # 2. There’s an additional three bathrooms located outside of Room #6, which will be available for children to use. Each bathroom consists of one sink. Continued on Page 2 Page 2 LPAs inspected Room #6 for health and safety hazards. LPAs observed a smoke detector, a carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher located inside of the room. Facility ensures solutions, poisons, and other chemicals that are dangerous to children are stored inaccessible to the children in care. Room #6 has age-appropriate furniture. LPAs observed furniture to be in good repair. The room is carpeted and appears to be in good repair and free of any hazards. Prior to approving an increase of capacity and the room addition, the pending document must be completed and submitted: - Superintendent’s Certification No deficiencies were cited today. A Notice of Site Visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative, Tracy Gilbert.
