Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 9/25/2025, at 9:15 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Wadhwa and Leong conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPAs met with Childcare Assistant Supervisor Eva Tong and Lead Teacher Nicole Hernandez. All adults present today have fingerprints and background clearance on file. The facility is licensed to operate a preschool program out of portable Room P1 on Sunset Ridge Elementary School site. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. There were no children and only two staff present during today\342\200\231s program. Per Assistant Supervisor, the program commenced on 8/13/2025 with 4 children but was temporarily paused on 9/15/2025 due to low enrollment. The Assistant Supervisor stated, four kids were moved to Fairmont Park (Rec) Preschool on 9/16/2025. The Assistant supervisor further stated, the program will possibly resume in August 2026. Since the program is still active, LPAs proceeded with an annual inspection and toured Room P1 for a health and safety inspection. LPAs observed the classroom to include a variety of toys and materials that were in good condition. The classroom has age-appropriate furniture, equipment, and materials. Storage for children's belongings is inside the classroom. Classrooms are equipped with multiple fully charged fire extinguishers and multiple first aid kits. LPAs observed multiple Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors in the classrooms. Continued on Page 2 Page 2 The classroom has two toilets and one sink for children to use. LPAs observed all toilets and sinks to be in working condition and equipped with sanitation supplies. Outdoor areas are entirely enclosed and fenced. LPAs observed play structures to have cushion flooring. LPA observed all play equipment to be in good condition. LPAs observed licensing posters and required documents to be properly posted. Since the program was only operational for less than a month, there was no disaster drill conducted during that period. Since the program has no enrolled children, LPAs did not review any children\342\200\231s or staff files. While the program was in operation it used a paper sign in and sign out requiring parents wet signatures.
