What the inspector wrote

On December 21, 2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Kaur, conducted an unannounced annual inspection and met with Licensee Claudia Vargas. The purpose of the inspection was explained and granted entry to the home by the Licensee. There are eight children in care with Licensee and two helpers(3 infants and 5 preschoolers). The Licensee owns this two-level single-family home. Day Care Areas: on the ground floor, which include the two small rooms, the living room, the bathroom, and the backyard. Off Limit Areas are the garage and the entire second floor. Hours of operations are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Per Licensees, sick children will be separated from the group and waiting for the parent to pick them up in the living room. LPA and Licensee inspected the daycare areas for health and safety hazards. During the inspection, LPA observed the following: The daycare area is clean, orderly, and equipped with age-appropriate toys and equipment for the children. The home has adequate lighting and ventilation. The house has a working smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector, and a fully charged fire extinguisher. First aid supplies are available for children . Per Licensee, there are no firearms, weapons, or pets in the home. LPA observed no pools, spas, or other bodies of water on the premises. The Licensee had posted all the required forms (i.e., License, Notification of Parent's Rights, Earthquake preparedness checklist, and Notification of Personal Rights). Per Licensee, fire drills are conducted every three months; the last fire drill was conducted on 11/04/2021. LPA reviewed five children's records and three staff records.
