Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On January 19th ,2022 at 8:30am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kassandra Medrano conducted an announced Case Management inspection for a request to add a toddler option component (ages 18 to 36 months) to existing license for up to sixteen toddlers. Licensee does not currently wish to increase capacity, capacity will remain the same, 42 children within facility. LPA met with Licensee Sheila Bramhe and explained purpose of inspection. Present at the center were the Licensee, two teachers, and eight preschool aged children. Licensee is requesting to designate Classroom #2 as the toddler option classroom with a group size of sixteen toddlers.Classroom #1 measures at 641.48 sq ft divided by 35 sq ft per child which equals a maximum number of 18 children as measured by LPA Jennifer Yee on January 9, 2010. Classroom remains the same, no alterations to the furniture or fixings have been made. Fire clearance has been received and granted. LPA inspected the room for health and safety hazards. The proposed toddler option classroom has an area for diapering with a sink. The toys and equipment in the room are age appropriate. Staff will use designated staff restroom. Facility will have three toilets and three sinks available to children in care. Licensee will also submit a plan on how the sharing of the bathrooms will be managed between both programs as well a schedule of the open outdoor space to be used between both programs. Licensee understands that the age range for the toddler option is 18 months to 36 months and that authorized representatives must give written permission for their child to participate in the toddler option component. Licensee understands that the children must be kept physically separate from the preschool age children. Ratio and staffing for the toddler option were discussed. Facility will be recommended for approval as of today, 1/19/2022 Report was reviewed and discussed with Licensee Sheila Bramhe. Copy of emailed to lakeviewmontessori@gmail.com.
