What the inspector wrote

On 8/06/2025, at approximately 8:45AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPAS) Alvarado and Tse conducted an unannounced annual visit at the facility. LPA Alvarado met with facility Director Jasmin Wood (D1). Present in the Facility is (D1) and six staff members supervising a total of 22 children (Infants). The Facility is licensed as a combination center program attached with a Preschool License Fac: 414002749. The facility is operating within staffing and ratio requirements on this day. LPAs along with (D1) at approximately 9:15am inspected the facility for any health or safety hazards. The Facility uses classrooms: Infant Room #1 and Infant Room #2 for Child Care Use. Areas that are not for use for children and are off Limits are the Entire 2 nd Floor, Kitchen, Boys Restroom, Front Yard Patio (Enclosed with Wooden Fence). Gymnasium is used for children to play in. Facility was reminded that any off-limit areas must be approved by the department prior to usage. No Pools, hot tubs, spas, or similar bodies of water present in the facility. Facility Hours of operation are from Monday-Friday 7:00AM-6:00PM. Families provide sheets for cribs that are also sent home on Fridays to be washed and returned on Mondays. Families also provided labeled Bottles with labeled individuals bags that were observed to be properly stored in the fridge. Facility Provides AM Snack, Lunch, PM Snack. Families also provided additional snacks for children that were also observed to be properly labeled. Continued on Page 2... Page 2 Continued.. Facility had cubbies with labeled names for additional storage for personal belongings. LPAs observed in the Infant Nap room appropriate napping equipment such as Infant cribs and cots. LPAs observed trash can with lids. Facility uses the Building Kidz App to sign in and out, also along with physical sign in and out. Facility Building is equipped with multiple fully charged fire extinguishers observed in classrooms. Fire alarm systems and Carbon Monoxide Detector in the facility were observed to be functioning during today’s visit. Facility has a Fully equipped First Aid Kit. Electrical outlets are childproof and inaccessible. Per (D1) there are no weapons or firearms in the facility. At approximately 11:00AM (D1) guided LPAs Alvarado and Tse outdoors to inspect the Play Area. Facility currently has an outdoor space, based on conversation with (D1) outdoor space is not being used. LPAs advised that a waiver is to be requested in order to use the outdoor space. The facility is currently not using the Outdoor Play space. At 2:15PM LPAs reviewed twelve children files that were observed to be complete. LPAs Alvarado and Tse also reviewed six staff files. At least one staff member present has current Pediatric First Aid/CPR training that Expiring 8/2026.Current staff have updated Mandated Reporter Training. (D1) was reminded that CPR/First Aid and Mandated Reporter Training must be renewed every two years. Staff have qualifications and immunization records available for review. Fire drills have been properly documented and available for review. The last Emergency Drill was conducted on 2/13/2025. LPAs reminded (D1) that Emergency must be conducted and logged at least once every six months. All required postings were observed to be posted and accessible for review upon entry to the facility. Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). Facility tested for Lead on 1/18/2023. Facility was cited on 11/15/2023 for late testing and exceedance. Facility representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Based on today's inspection 8/06/2025, deficiencies were not observed, according to California Title 22, Health and Safety Code of Regulations. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
