What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrea Medlin met with facility representative for this required annual licensing visit. Purpose of visit explained. Days and hours of operation: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:30PM. There are 17 children present during the visit. Facility meets teacher/child ratio. The facility has fully charged fire extinguishers that meet the minimum requirements, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors. Children's bathrooms inspected; all toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. No pools, spas, hot tubs, fish ponds, or similar bodies of water are present. Per staff, there are no firearms or weapons on site. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children are inaccessible. Variety of age appropriate toys and materials for children is available. Classrooms are set up for child care and furniture and equipment for children is present. Adequate first aid supplies are available. Sick children will be separated from the group while waiting for parents to pick up. Cots are available for napping; parent's provide the napping supplies and are responsible to wash once a week. Snacks and meals are provided by the facility. Adequate first aid supplies are available. Outdoor play area is inspected for health and safety hazards. There is an overhead gazebo outside to provide shade. The areas outside under climbing structures is cushioned with soft rubber. Outdoor activity spaces are fully fenced and surfaces are free of hazards. Facility has posted all the required licensing forms in a prominent accessible location. LPA reviewed staff and children's files. In the files reviewed, all are complete. Staff have verification of the required staff immunizations: measels (MMR) and pertussis (TDap). All staff and director have verification of the required mandated child abuse reporter training as compliant with AB1207 (exp 9/29/2025). All staff have current Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification. (Continued on next page 809-C) Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. Facility representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. The facility representative, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative Jam Eyvazov. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.

This requirement is not met based on it being reported facility was having problems with fleas inside resulting in some children getting flea bites. This poses a potential health and safety risk.
