Facility-requested visit·June 6, 2024

On June 6th, 2024, at approximately 3:50 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Janet Gil arrived at the facility. LPAs conducted an unannounced case management inspection for an increase of capacity and room addition. LPA met with Director, Lisa Wheel. Facility has requested to increase capacity from 42 to 60 children and to add Room C20. Present at the facility were 17 preschool age children with 4 staff (including director).All staff members working in facility are fingerprint cleared. Preschool program currently operates Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Facility operates from two classrooms of Linda Mar Educational Center. Facility is currently licensed for 42 children in classrooms C17 and C19. LPA measured room C20. Classroom C20 measured for a total of 782.042 ft allowing 60 preschool age children in facility. Facility has Bathroom consist of three additional accessible sinks and four toilets. Bathroom also has a changing table and two portable children's potty training toilets. LPA inspected Room C20 for health and safety hazards. LPA observed that there is a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and fire extinguisher in facility. Facility ensures solutions, poisons, and other chemicals that are dangerous to the children are stored inaccessible to the children in care. Room has age appropriate furniture. LPA observe furniture to be in good repair. Floor appears to be in good repair and free of any hazards. Prior to approving and increase of capacity and additions, the pending items must be completed: *Fire Clearance is required *New Lead Testing Results must be posted *Annual fees must be current No deficiencies were cited today. Exit interview and report was discussed with Director, Lisa Wheel. This report and notice of site visit were discussed with the licensee and must be made available to the public upon request.
