What the inspector wrote

On September 19, 2023, at approximately 9.30am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tso and LPA Olguin-Leon conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPAs met with licensee, Pranita Venkatesh, and explained the purpose of the inspection. Present during LPAs\342\200\231 visit included licensee and licensee's helper. Children present during LPAs\342\200\231 visit included 10 children (preschool age). Licensee is operating within capacity limits and ratio during LPAs visit. Licensee lives in the multi-level home with their spouse and 2 minor children. All adults living in the home have fingerprint clearance on file. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 9:00am to 2:00pm. Daycare areas are: three lower-level bedrooms, downstairs bathroom, and back yard. Off Limit areas are: The entire upper level of home. Off limit areas are properly barricaded with child safety gates and/or closed doors. There is stair in the backyard to the pool that were observed to have 2 child safety gates at 5 feet high and inaccessible to children. LPAs toured day care areas of home with licensee. LPAs observed home to be in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. Home is equipped with a variety of toys and materials that were observed to be in good working condition. Cleaning supplies, poisons, and solutions are made inaccessible in home's shelves locked. LPAs observed electrical outlets are preventing child to access to the outlet holes. Home is equipped with a fully charged fire extinguisher and a dual working smoke/carbon monoxide detector. The dual working smoke/carbon monoxide detector was tested by the licensee in good working condition. All emergency supplies are kept in a secure location. Medications are appropriately labeled and kept out of the reach of children. First aid products are fully stocked and ready for use by children. (Continue Report on Page 2...) (Continued, Page 2...) Bathroom for children's use was observed to be in proper working condition. LPAs reminded the licensee to secure the cabinet. LPAs did not observe any hazardous materials to be accessible to children. Entire backyard is fully enclosed and fenced. Outdoor area is equipped with a variety of toys and materials. The outdoor play structures and toys are observed in good shape. The outdoor has a shaded area for children. All play structures have comfortable padding beneath them to absorb any accidental falls. LPAs reviewed five children\342\200\231s records. Children\342\200\231s files have a record of emergency identification information on file. Licensee's Pediatric First Aid/CPR is current and will expire 08/2025. Emergency drills are properly logged and maintained. Last emergency drill was conducted 06/23/2023. Licensee has licensing documentation properly posted and available for review. Per licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. LPAs reminded licensee about Mandated Reporter training available www.mandatedreporterca.com . Licensee was reminded Mandated Reporter training must be renewed every 2 years and all staff whom directly work with children must complete training. Licensee was reminded, as of September 1, 2016, all Staff and Volunteers must provide proof of immunization against pertussis, measles, and influenza, or qualifies for an exemption, pursuant to Health and Safety code 1596.7995 and 1597.622. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPAs reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the licensee, Pranita Venkatesh, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPAs completed the RSO profile in FAS. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. No deficiency is issued today. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Pranita Venkatesh.
