On March 15, 2023, at 8:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maria Olguin-Leon met with licensee, Day Esguerra(Suspine) for unannounced annual inspection. Purpose of visit was explained. Present for todays visit was licensee and 4 infants and 1 preschooler. Helper Samantha arrived at 9:50 AM. Facility is in compliance with capacity/ratios today. Hours of operation are Monday \342\200\223 Friday 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. LPA and Licensee toured the home for health and safety hazards. Daycare area are: Living room, Dining room, Kitchen and bedroom #1. Off limits area are: Garage and Master Bedroom. Backyard and Deck are used for daycare. Backyared has concrete patio and grass area and is equipped with plenty of toys. Home is clean with proper ventilation. There are plenty of age-appropriate toys, playpens and learning materials all in good repair. There are no pools or bodies of water. Per licensee there are no weapons in the home. Fireplace in living room is properly barricaded. All cleaning supplies and toxins are properly stored in locked cabinets in kitchen. The home is equipped with a fully charged fire extinguisher(located under sink in locked cabinet), two working carbon monoxide detector and two smoke detector. LPA reminded Licensee to replace batteries regularly. Last emergency drill was conducted on 03/10/2023. CPR/First Aid is current until 09/17/2024. Per licensing Mandated Reporter was completed recently, due to printing issue is unavailable. Licensee will email copy to LPA. First Aid kit is available and isolation area for sick children will be in bedroom #1. LPA reviewed 3 children\342\200\231s records. All the children's records were complete. The home has all necessary paperwork posted. Licensee was given a copy of LIC126. Licensee provides breakfast, lunch and snacks. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee Day Esguerra and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Licensee was reminded that as of September 1, 2016, a person may not be employed or volunteer at a childcare facility, unless he or she has been immunized for influenza, pertussis and measles or qualifies for an exemption pursuant to Health and Safety Code 1596.7995 and 1597.662. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual \342\200\223 Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The Licensee was reminded about the Provider Information Notices (PINs) on the CCLD website. Licensee was informed that as of September 1, 2016, a person may not be employed or volunteer at a childcare facility unless he or she has been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles or qualifies for an exemption pursuant to Health and Safety code 1596.7995 and 1597.662. LPA reviewed AB 1207 with the Licensee. As of January 1, 2018, all staff must complete Mandated Reporter Training every two years. The training can be obtained online at www.mandatedreporterca.com . LPA encouraged the Licensee to frequently visit our website at www.ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and new updates.
