What the inspector wrote

On December 12th, 2025, at 8:45AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Alvarado arrived at the facility to conduct an unannounced case management for a room addition. LPA Alvarado met with the licensee Saima Abdullah(L1). (L1) wanted to add the Dining Room and living room that was off limits and currently only approved for nap use. Purpose of the inspection was explained. After 9:00AM four more children also arrived to the facility. Present is (L1) and assistant supervising 9 children (2 Infants and 7 Preschoolers). (L1) was reminded that if no assistant provider is present at a Large Family Child Care Home, then the licensee shall comply with the capacity requirements for a Small Family Child Care Home as specified in 102416.5 Staffing Ratio and Capacity. All adults present in the home have fingerprint clearance and are associated to the facility as of today\342\200\231s inspection. LPA along with (L1) inspected the home indoors and outdoors for any health or safety hazards along with (L1). Licensee would like to add the Dining Room and living room in the lower level of the home which is a large space, living room was approved only for nap use and (L1) wants to open it for additional Family Child Care use. (L1) plan is to utilize the Dining Room and living room space for additional learning, play, arts and crafts. LPA inspected the Living room and observed it to be appropriate for Family child care home use. LPA only suggested with (L1) to place additional cushion to sharp edges such as the corners of tables to prevent any injuries. (L1) stated the facility will plan to move around furniture to better accommodate for Family Child Crae home use. Facility received fire clearance that was issued on 12/9/2025. Continued on Page 2... Page 2 Continued... The following areas are used for Family Child Care: Part of the lower level of the Home, which includes the Bedroom, Bathroom, Family Room, and Kitchen. Outdoor Play Yard. The Off-Limit Areas are: The entire second floor, Living Room (Only for Napping), Garage and Front Yard. LPA observed that off limit areas were properly barricaded and made inaccessible to the children in care. Facility has stairs that lead to the second floor and (L1) placed a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs that barricade the stairs making them inaccessible to children in care. (L1) was reminded that the stairs leading to the second floor must be barricaded at all times. LPA observed age-appropriate toys and learning materials to be present. Furniture is age-appropriate and free of rough and loose parts. Newly approved Family Child Care Home Day Care Areas: Entire 1 st Floor that consist of Bedroom, Family Room, Kitchen, Dining Room and Living Room. Off Limits: Entire 2 nd Floor, Garage and Front Yard. As of today, 12/12/2025 Dining Room and Living Room in the lower level of the home is added as part of the day care area. Making the Entire First Floor Family Child Crae Home. No deficiencies were cited today on 12/12/2025 under CCR, Title 22, Div. 12, Chapt. 1. Appeal Rights were provided to (L1). A notice of site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Saima Abdullah.
