What the inspector wrote

On October 29, 2025 at approximately 8:00AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Katie Krenn conducted an unannounced annual visit. LPA met with the Licensee, Menghan Ge, and explained the purpose of the visit. Present during the visit in addition to the licensee were one staff member, four infants, and 3 preschool children. The licensee has a large license and is operating within the capacity limits and ratios for this visit. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday. 8:00am to 6:00pm. Licensee lives in a multi-level home. All adults living in the home and staff present during the visit have obtained criminal record clearances from the California Department of Social Services. Daycare Areas: Kitchen, Dining Room, Living Room, Bedroom #1, Bathroom #1, Front Yard, and South Side Yard. Off-limit Areas: The entire second level of the home, Back Yard, Driveway, and Garage. LPA and licensee toured day care areas of home. LPA observed home to be in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. Home is equipped with a variety of toys and materials that were observed to be in good condition. LPA observed electrical outlets to be made inaccessible with child safety covers. LPA observed that all required documents, such as the facility license, the Notification of Parental Rights, and the Earthquake Preparedness Checklist, were displayed and visible in the area where parents and caregivers pick up and drop off children. continued on page 2 Page 2 The most recent emergency disaster drill was conducted in August 2025, and the LPA observed that it was documented. LPA reviewed the emergency disaster drill log and found they were conducted at least once every six months. LPA observed the Emergency Disaster Plan LIC 610A which had all the necessary contact information. LPA observed that only one relocation site was listed. LPA informed licensee that a second evacuation location was listed in case the first one is not available. Licensee confirmed that she understood. Licensee added a second location during the visit. Home is equipped with a fully charged fire extinguisher, and three combination smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detectors. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested during visit and were observed to be in working condition. Licensee confirmed that there are no pools, spas, or other bodies of water in the premises. Napping room was observed to be equipped with play yards for infants and mats for napping children. Play yards were observed to be free of loose articles, bumper pads, and pillows. LPA observed play yards to have fitted mattresses and sheets. LPA observed that bedding is available for the children. Per licensee, parents take sheets home every weekend for laundering. Sleeping logs for napping infants are maintained and includes the 15 minute time check of when infant was last checked on and sleeping position. LPA observed that the bathroom was clean, fully operational, and equipped with suitable toileting equipment and sanitation products. LPA observed children\342\200\231s diapers and wipes in bathroom which were properly stored. Per licensee, children\342\200\231s families provide diapers and wipes for enrolled children. Licensee provides breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Per license, children are welcome to bring lunch from home. Per licensee none of the children currently in care have any known allergies or dietary restrictions. LPA observed eating area to be clean and equipped with appropriate and supportive dining furniture for children and infants. LPA observed knives to be made inaccessible. The outdoor area includes a variety of age appropriate toys and play structures that LPA observed to be in good condition. Front yard and side area are both fenced. LPA observed that areas under climbing equipment and slides is cushioned with artificial grass. LPA observed shaded areas available for the children in care. LPA did not observe any pools, spas or bodies of water on site. continued on page 3 Page 3 Per licensee, they do not administer any medications to the children. LPA reviewed the files of all seven children in care on this day. LPA observed that the files were complete with all the necessary paperwork. LPA reviewed licensee's file and present staff file. LPA observed that both had current First Aid and CPR Certifications and Mandated Report Training Certifications. LPA observed that the employee had an incomplete immunization record. LPA discussed a plan of correction. To improve the quality and value of the inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. No deficiencies were citated today during LPA's visit. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Menghan Ge.
