Inspector’s narrative
What the inspector wrote
On November 7, 2025 at approximately 1:00PM Licensing Program Analyst, (LPA) Katie Krenn arrived at the facility fo
r an unannounced annual inspection continuation visit. LPA met with Site Director, Nathasia Aradanas and explained the purpose of today's visit. Present at the facility in addition to the director were seven staff supervising 55 school age children. The facility is operating within capacity limits and ratio during today's visit. All staff present during the visit and staff listed on the personnel report have obtained criminal record fingerprint clearance from the Department of Social Services and are associated with this facility on Guardian.
Days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 7:00AM to morning school bell and from after school dismissal bell until 6:30PM. This location also has full day programs during all school breaks.
This program is licensed to operate in the following rooms;
multipurpose room, library, and rooms #1, #2, #12, #13, #14, #15, #17, and #19.
During today's visit, LPA inspected the rooms that the program currently uses which are room #17, the multipurpose room, and the library. The program also operates a preschool license on the same site, which LPA did not inspect during this visit.
Site Director confirmed that there are no pools, fountains, ponds, or similar bodies of water on the property.
LPA observed that required documents: such as the facility license, notification of parents\342\200\231 rights, personal rights, earthquake preparedness checklist, car seat laws, and emergency disaster plan, were available for review in classroom 17. LPA observed the notice of site visit posted in a prominent place where parents pick up their children.

The Champion program operates on an active elementary school site. The school age program is exempt from requirements for indoors and outdoors space square footage, fencing, and toilet/sink ratios. No measurements were taken during LPA's visit.
According to the Site Director, some of the children have known allergies and that information is posted in the classroom. Currently, only one child's allergies require an epinephrine. The facility is nut free. The facility only provides snacks. LPA observed a menu of snacks that included healthy options, such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Drinking water is available for the children both indoors and outdoors.
LPA observed the classrooms to be clean, equipped with age-appropriate furniture and educational materials. Flooring in classroom includes carpet, tile, and wood. LPA observed that the carpet and tile in room 17 was stained, scuffed, and has small debris. LPA observed a fire extinguisher in each of the rooms inspected during this visit. All rooms have an integrated fire alarm system implemented by school district, which is inspected by the fire department.
During the previous visit LPA tested the carbon monoxide detector in room 17 and found it to be functioning. LPA did not observe a carbon monoxide detector in the library nor the multipurpose room. Per the site director the multipurpose room is only used on rainy days. LPA discussed carrying a battery operated carbon monoxide detector into the rooms, while the program is using the rooms. Brining a plug in carbon monoxide detector when the program uses the room would also meet the requirements.
LPA reviewed the scheduled activities which included suitable activities such as outdoor organized or free play, snack time, as well as time for silent reading and homework.
LPA did not review any files during this visit, because LPA reviewed staff and children's files last month during a previous visit. During the visit on 10/07/25, LPA observed that some of the staff files were missing documents. The site director emailed the missing document to LPA and LPA confirmed that the files are complete.
The last disaster drill was conducted in October 2025 and LPA observed that it was documented. LPA observed that drills are conducted at least every six months.
