On January 24th, 2024, at approximately 1:15pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tapia-Mandujano conducted an unannounced random/annual inspection and met with licensee, Maribel Aguilar Torres. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection licensee. Present in the facility are licensee and assistant caring and supervising 9 children (1 infant and 8 preschoolers). During today's inspection, All adults living and/or working in the facility are fingerprint cleared and associated. Licensee rents home, which is a three bedroom two bathroom house with front and backyard. Licensee lives in home with adult husband and a minor child. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 7am-6pm. Daycare areas are : Living Room, Dining Room, Bedroom #1, Bathroom #1, Front Yard, and front portion of the backyard. OFF limit areas are: Kitchen (pass through only), Bedroom #2 and #3, Bathroom #2, Basement, and Back portion of the backyard. All off limit areas are properly barricaded. LPA observed the Day-care is clean, orderly with a variety of age-appropriate toys for the children. All furniture inspected is in good repair. The applicant has a fully stocked First Aid kit and was reminded to be aware of the expiration on the First Aid Kit. The home has no pools or bodies of water in the home. LPA reminded licensee about water safety. The home does not have a fireplace. Per licensee there are two pet rabbits. The home has age-appropriate equipment available for children in care. Licensee was reminded that baby walkers, bouncers, jumpers and any other similar items are to not be used for children in care. Per licensee, she sleeps children on cots in the living room for children over 12 months. There was a fully charged fire extinguisher and a smoke and carbon monoxide alarm, and a working telephone. Phone number listed for Licensee is current. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. LPA reviewed nine children\342\200\231s records. Licensee's Mandated reporter training will expire on 08/2026. Licensee's Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certification Expires 04/2025. Last Emergency drill was conducted 09/2024. Emergency drills must be conducted at least once every six months and must be properly logged. Continued on Page 2... Page 2 Continued.. . All the required posting documentation, such as the facility license, Notification of Parental Rights and have been placed in a prominent area for parents or representatives to review. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. Licensee does offer IMS at this moment. Incidental Medical Services plan is on file. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the licensee, Maribel Aguilar Torres, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS on 1/24/25. No Deficiencies were cited today under CCR, Title 22, Div. 12, Chapt. 1. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with License, Maribel Aguilar Torres and copy of this report was provided.
