Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On October 24, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kassandra Medrano met with Current Director, Joseph Pangilinan and Executive Director, Nick Puccinelli, as well licensee, Eve Daskalakis for a case management inspection initiated by the licensee. Purpose of today's inspection: increase licensed capacity. LPA explained the nature of today's inspection to directors and toured the indoor/outdoor areas of the facility during today's inspection. The current facility is located on the campus of White Oaks Elementary School (under the San Carlos School District). The facility is currently licensed in Rooms 7 and 8 and Multipurpose room (MUR). The licensed capacity will increase from 60 school age children to 121 school age children in rooms. Today, during visit LPA received documentation from the program that stated permissions and capacity and was signed by the Principal, Leah Scholer. Per documentation provided by facility, the school district states capacity for each of the rooms is 40 children per room, and 75 in the MUR with a maximum of 155 children. Per phone call with Amber Farinha, Director of enterprise and Community Relations, Amber stated that principal is designee for the school district. During prior inspection at another licensed site documentation was received via email from San Carlos School District. The Facility operates at a functioning elementary school site and thus is exempt from the indoor and outdoor square footage requirements, fencing requirements, and toilet/sink ratios and isolation area requirements. A fire clearance approval for Room 16 was also received from the Redwood City Fire Department prior to today's inspection on 10/2/2024. LPA conducted an exit interview with Executive Director, Nick, and Licensee, Eve and advised her that a license for 121 school age children in is approved today, October 24, 2024.
