What the inspector wrote

On September 19, 2023 at 1:58 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) April Cowan conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and met with Licensee, Dana Allen. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Present in the facility is Licensee and helper caring for 10 children (4 infants and 6 preschool age). Licensee lives in three bedroom and three bathroom house. Day-care areas : Living Room, Dining Room, Bedroom 3, bathroom 2, and yard. Off Limit areas : Kitchen, Bedrooms 1 and 2, and garage. Facility operates from Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. When LPA arrived all children were napping. At 1:04 PM, LPA observed the following: Day-care area is clean, orderly, and equipped with age appropriate toys and equipment for the children. Home has sufficient lighting and ventilation. Home has a working telephone, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fully charged fire extinguisher. Chimney in Living room is properly barricaded. There are no bodies of water on the property. There are no poisons, detergents, or cleaning products accessible to day-care children. Licensee states there are no guns or weapons of any kind in the home. Licensee\342\200\231s CPR expires in 6/2025. Licensee conducted last emergency drill on 9/5/23, and is properly logged. Licensee provides daily snacks and meals. Discipline policy is positive redirection. At 1:22 PM, LPA reviewed facility files. Children's and staff's files are complete with required Licensing documents. Licensee has all required postings posted for parents to review. *Licensee was reminded about having all Staff and Volunteers provide proof of immunization against influenza, pertussis, and measles or qualifies for an exemption. *Licensee was reminded about the Provider Information Notices (PINs) on CCLD website. *Licensee was reminded about Mandated Reporter Training available on CCLD website ( www.ccld.ca.gov or www.mandatedreporterca.com ) *Licensee was given information regarding \342\200\230Safe Sleep\342\200\231 practices. >>> See next page Page 2 To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee. During the exit interview, the LICENSEE Dana Allen, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. >No deficiencies were cited today under CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter
