What the inspector wrote
On February 20, 2026, at approximately 2:00 pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maria Olguin-Leon met with licensee, Dan Yang to conduct an unannounced annual inspection. The purpose of the inspection visit was explained to Licensee. Present during today\342\200\231s visit was licensee, three assistants and 11 children (2 infants and 8 preschoolers). All adults present today have criminal background clearances and are associated to facility. Facility is in compliance with ratio capacity requirements. Facility operates Monday \342\200\223 Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
LPA observed Childcare License, Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC610A) and Parent's rights posted at entrance of daycare on right side wall. Last emergency drill was conducted February 4, 2026. Drill is properly documented with date and time drill was conducted.
Emergency pull down fire alarm is located at entrance of home. Home is equipped with a fully charged fire extinguisher, which located in living room and easily accessible. LPA reviewed first aid kit. Smoke detector and carbon monoxide detectors were both tested during today\342\200\231s visit and observed to be working condition. Licensee maintains a cell phone service on the premises. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home.
LPA inspected the indoors and outdoors of home for health and safety hazards. LPA observed home to be free of defects or conditions that might endanger a child. Home is a one-story dwelling with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
Daycare areas are
: Living room, dining room, bathroom #1, bedroom #4 and backyard.
Off-limit
areas are
: Bedrooms #1, #2, and #3, bathroom #2, kitchen and garage. Sick children will be isolated in living room and kept away from other children. LPA observed the daycare area flooring to be interlocked foam to absorb and cushion falls. The home has proper heating, lighting and ventilation to provide safety and comfort.

Fireplace in dining room is screened to prevent access by children. Living room is divided into two spaces with child safety gates. Child safety gates are secured between living room and dining room and at kitchen entrance. Bathroom was clean and cabinet was secured with a childproof latch. LPA observed a stepping stool for children\342\200\231s use

Electrical outlets are secured with childproof covers and barricaded with furniture. Cleaning supplies and other potentially harmful items are stored inaccessible to children and behind child proof cabinets.

edroom #4 is equipped with playpens, a crib and sleeping cots. Playpens/crib mattresses are firm and covered with fitted sheets, Sleeping cots appear to be in good condition. LPA reminded Licensee to secure playpen mattresses with tight fitting sheets. Playpens/cribs were free of loose articles, objects and blankets. Parents provide sheets and for napping and bedding is sent home weekly for laundering.
Backyard is enclosed with a 5 ft wood fence. Off limits areas are barricaded with planters. LPA observed age-appropriate child size picnic benches, ride on toys, small slide structures, and a playhouse. LPA reminded Licensee to cover sandbox when not in use. Flooring in backyard is cement and interlocked tile drainage squares to cushion falls. LPA did not observe any pool, spas, or other bodies of water.
Licensee provides a meal service to children in care, which includes breakfast, lunch and two snacks. LPA reminded licensee that any food brought from home must be labeled and stored properly. LPA observed highchairs and child size table and chairs for child to sit and eat. LPA observed kitchen to be clean, and food properly stored to avoid contamination or spoilage.
LPA reviewed 5 children\342\200\231s files and 3 assistant\342\200\231s files; all files were complete. Licensee maintains updated 15-minute sleep logs for infant children. Children\342\200\231s roster was reviewed and is up to date. Licensee\342\200\231s CPR/FA expiration date is 7/2026 and licensee\342\200\231s Mandated reporter ex. 09/2026.
Licensee Dan Yang was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee Dan Yang and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at

as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [or facility representative] of the importance of checking for and removing any recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
As of January 1, 2018, all staff must complete Mandated Reporter Training every two years. LPA reminded licensee about Mandated Reporter training available

Licensee Dan Yang was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
Licensee was reminded about the Provider Information Notices (PINs) on the CCLD website. Licensee was informed that as of September 1, 2016, a person may not be employed or volunteer at a childcare facility unless he or she has been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles or qualifies for an exemption pursuant to Health and Safety code 1596.7995 and 1597.662. LPA reviewed AB 1207 with the Licensee.
During the exit interview, the Licensee Dan Yang, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.

No deficiencies were cited during today\342\200\231s visit, under CCR, Title 22, Division 12.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
