What the inspector wrote

On 7/21/2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) German Negrete and conducted an unannounced Random Anual Inspection. LPA arrived and met with Licensee Naneette Chavez and advised Licensee of the purpose for the inspection. Together with the Licensee, LPA toured the facility inside and outside. LPA notes at the time of inspection there were 6 children in care. Family Child Care Home(FCCH) Hours of operation are from 08:30AM to 4:30PM Mon -Thursday. LPA observed licensing documents mounted on the wall. Parents rights we're mounted on the wall as well. LPA provided a entry check list to Licensee. At 12:08 PM LPA reviewed child care roster. Licensee stated child care roster was incomplete (see LIC812). LPA continued with inspection, LPA notes FCCH is a two story condo, the main child care room is the living room. The FCCH does have age appropriate toys and furniture readily accessible for children in care. In the kitchen LPA observed knives are secured and elevated and are inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed the fire extinguisher 2-A-10-B-C in the kitchen. LPA verified fire extinguisher was last service on 08/20/2024.LPA observed carbon monoxide detector and separate smoke detector mounted on the wall, both were tested and observed operable at 12:15PM. LPA continued inspection in the sleeping area(living room). FCCH provides children with individual sleeping mats during quiet time if they choose to sleep. LPA observed the mats were clean. The LPA toured the back yard. The out door play area has an ample amount of space for children to play. Continued on 809-C LPA observed the out door play area has age appropriate toys and materials available for children to use with impact absorbing material laid through out the yard. The playground has ample amount of shade available. LPA reviewed of disaster drills, last drill conducted on 1/1/2025. The FCCH also had a very organized storage area where toys and other supplies are kept. There are no swimming pools or other bodies of water present. LPA observed the trash containers had tightly covered lids. Children and staff records were reviewed. In total there were 3 files being reviewed. LPA observed children's files incomplete (see LIC857). LPA verified SB792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis requirements. Licensee has a current Pediatric CPR/First-Aid certificates that is valid until 10/25/2026. The Licensees mandated reported training certificate was not readily available during inspection. Licensee was informed by LPA, to keep up to date with training and certification. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. This FCCH does not provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Continued on LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and- resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Continued 809-C Furthermore to improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. License was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies throughout California. During todays inspection the Licensee was informed she will be receiving one type B citation. During the exit interview LPA confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS today, 07/21/2025. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal rights were given. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee Chavez..
