Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On December 19, 2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Giovani Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Case Management - Change of Capacity inspection at the above mentioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Director Diamond Diaz and Assistant Director Jessica Knapp, and informed them the purpose of the inspection. At the time of the inspection 4 children were present. The CCC is requesting to increase their capacity from 6 to 8 infants. Further the CCC has the intention to change the layout of the infant classrooms to each have a napping area and play area. Indoor square footage meets the requirement for new infant capacity with the proposed changes to the layout of the classrooms. LPA informed assistant director prior to the increase of capacity, the classrooms must be set up in the nap/play area layout. At this time the outdoor square footage is unable to accommodate 8 infants. Assistant director informed LPA they have the intention to move the fence back in order to add the necessary space to accommodate 8 infants. Fire Clearance was granted by Carpinteria City Fire Department on 10/1/2025 for capacity of 8 infants. Change of capacity of license is pending changes to classroom layout and outdoor space. Report was reviewed with Assistant Director Jessica Knapp and notice of site visit was given.
