What the inspector wrote

On August 13, 2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced Required Annual inspection of the above mentioned Child Care Center (CCC). Prior to inspection LPA asked pre screening questions related to COVID 19, Director responses indicate there was no COVID exposure on site. LPA met with Staci Rich Director of the CCC and explained and nature of the inspection. LPA toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. There were 8 infants and 2 staff are present in the Infant Program at the time of the inspection. It was observed that all staff were wearing face covering. The CCC operates from 7:15 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday thru Friday. The classroom of the CCC was clean, organized , supplied with age appropriate toys and furnishings available to infants. The room had an operable carbon monoxide detector. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions were locked inaccessible to inaccessible to children. The CCC has licensing required documents and forms posted. Sign In/Out sheet were completed appropriately. The center\342\200\231s outdoor playground areas is enclosed by wrought iron fence. The fence\342\200\231s entry/exit gate is secured. LPA observed age appropriate toys/play equipment in the play area which are in good and safe condition. The play structures in the playground areas have adequate cushioning materials to absorb falls. No bodies of water were observed on site. Waste receptacles with tight fitting covers were observed at the CCC . A sampling of staff and children records were reviewed. The Infants have LIC 9227 , Individual Sleeping Plan signed by the authorized representative as well as Infants Needs and Services which are updated in a quarterly basis. It was observed that Staff physically check sleeping infants every 15 minutes and document the observation. Staff records were reviewed and contained a health assessment. CPR and First Aid expires on 3/3/2023. Staff have taken Mandated Reporter Training per AB 1207. Director noted no firearms or ammunition is stored on site. The LPA discussed to continue implementing the COVID 19 Mitigation Plan and the Effects of Lead Exposure with the Director. Director will be providing literature to the parents of children in care. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department.
