What the inspector wrote

On August 23, 2022 Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Rona Chavez and Austin Rios conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection. LPAs met with Executive Director Teresa Alvarez and Interim Director of Early learning Martha Haro. A tour of the facility was provided inside and out. There were 48 children in care at the time of the inspection. Facility sent in application for a Toddler Option, adding 3 additional classrooms and a capacity change. Center is requesting a capacity of 132, 20 of which is the Toddler Option (Ages 18-30 months) to existing preschool. Community Care Licensing (CCL) received an approved fire clearance from Carpinteria Fire Department on August 16, 2022. Facility Measurements were the same for all 3 classrooms. Facility Measurements: Indoor - 37.6 x 22.11 which met the requirement for capacity of 132, facility will be adding 60 children, 20 in each classroom. Outdoor Preschool Yard - Square footage totaled 12,228.4 which met the requirement for an additional 40 preschool children and also meets the requirement for total capacity of the preschool. Outdoor Toddler Yard - Square footage 2050.4 which met the requirement for 20 toddlers. Cont. on 809-C LPAs observed the bathroom that children will be using to be clean and free of toxins. Director was reminded that toddlers can not use the restroom at the same time as the preschool children. LPA discussed the measurements and capacity of additional 60 children with the director. Director advised she understood. As of today, August 23, 2022 the toddler option is approved for 20 children and all 3 classrooms are approved. Total capacity of facility is now 132. THE NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS POSTED AS REQUIRED BY H&S CODE SEC. 1596.817.
