What the inspector wrote

On May 10, 2022 at 12:30 PM, Licensing Program Analyst Gigi Reyes conducted a 1 Year Required inspection. LPA asked pre screening questions related to COVID- 19 and licensee\342\200\231s responses indicate there are no COVID 19 exposures on site. LPA met with licensee, Danielle Taff and discussed the purpose of the inspection. There were 12 children and 2 staff present during the inspection LPA, in the company of the Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The home\342\200\231s living room, dining room, backyard, hallway restroom, downstairs bedrooms and kitchen are used for child care , the home\342\200\231s upper story and garage are off limits from child care. The home's second story is inaccessible to children and barricaded with a child safety gate. LPA observed required licensing forms are posted in the FCCH. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the FCCH. The regulation fire extinguisher was serviced on 6/10/2021. Home conducts and documents fire and disaster drill every 6 months last drill was conducted on 4/25/2022 The backyard enclosed by wood fencing. Toys and play equipment in backyard are age appropriate. No bodies of water were observed on site. Licensee stated there are gun and ammunition in the home which are separately stored. LPA Reyes reviewed facility file, Pediatric CPR and First Aid expires on 6/16/2023. Licensee renewed the Mandated Reporter Training Certificate which expires on 11/6/2022. Licensee has proof of immunization on file. FCCH has current roster of children in care. A sampling of children records was reviewed Child # 1 and 2, 8,9,10 do not have immunization record on file. Continued on 809-C Child # 9 and 10 do not have copy of the Notice of FCCH Notification of parents right and do not have Emergency record on file. During today's inspection, deficiencies were cited under CCR Title 22 Division 12. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. When any IMS is provided, a plan for providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
