Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On August 25, 2025 at 10:58am Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Elizabeth George and Bill Billones conducted an unannounced case management inspection to license the new outdoor play area. LPAs met with Lead Alicia Cardenas and discussed the purpose of the inspection. LPAs along with Lead toured the interior and exterior of the facility. There were 9 children in the care of 4 staff. The purpose of the inspection was to inspect the new outdoor play area. The outdoor play area is fully enclosed with wooden fencing. Age appropriate toys and play equipment were observed. The flooring was observed to be compact dirt. Throughout there are dried weeds and fallen leaves, LPAs informed Lead these items would need to be maintained before licensure. LPAs observed a creek with no water in both the toddler and preschool sides. LPAs discussed with Lead bodies of water and 100% supervision. Shading is provided by large Oak tree canopies mainly on the preschool side. LPAs inquired about shading for the the toddler side. Additional shading will be provided by umbrella and/ or pop up awnings. The entry and exit metal gates were enclosed with bungee cords in place of locks. LPAs informed Lead correct locks will need to be installed prior to licensure. During this inspection a trash can containing solid waste was observed without a tight fitting lid. Lead had trash can removed during visit. At this time the new outdoor play yard does not meet Title 22 regulation and is pending the following corrections: Entry/ Exit gates properly secured Maintenance of entire yard Additional shading Exit interview conducted, notice of visit provided and report reviewed with Lead, Alicia Cardenas.
