On February 18, 2026 , at 1:36 P.M. Licensing Program Analyst Joaquin Mendez conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Michelle Vierya, Licensee of the FCCH and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Licensee, toured the exterior and interior of the FCCH. At the time of inspection, the licensee had 4 children in care in the home. This is a single-story home with 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a living room, kitchen, dining area, front yard, and backyard. The home\342\200\231s living room, hall bathroom, kitchen, dining room, and Front yard are used for childcare services. The rest of the home is excluded from daycare. LPA observed safety covers on the bedroom doors making them all inaccessible to children in care. The FCCH is clean, orderly, and has ventilation to afford for the children\342\200\231s comfort. Sharps are stored in an elevated kitchen cabinet. Chemicals and cleaning supplies are stored in the locked closet and medications are stored in the elevated cabinet in the kitchen. LPA note these items are inaccessible to children in care. The bathroom was observed to be clean and free of toxins. Toys, furniture and equipment observed in the FCCH are age appropriate. LPA observed required licensing forms and documents posted on a bulletin board near the entry door of the FCCH. LPA observed a smoke detector that was tested at 2:33 PM and a carbon monoxide detector that was tested at 2:34PM. Both detectors were found to be operational. The FCCH has a regulation fire extinguisher (2A10BC) that was serviced on 5/1/2026. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually . The front yard is enclosed with wood fencing, and the entry/exit points are secured. The front yard contains age-appropriate toys and play equipment. LPA reminded Licensee to replace toys and play equipment when Continue on LIC809C such items begin to degrade or are not in good repair . LPA note there are no bodies of water on site. The children\342\200\231s records were reviewed. The records are current and complete with emergency contact information, immunization records, and other required licensing forms and documents . The Licensee\342\200\231s records were reviewed and found to be current with CPR/First Aid certifications (expires 12/24/2025) and Mandated Reporter training (expires 7/08/2027). LPA note the most recent fire/emergency drill was conducted on 9/02/2025 at 2:40PM with 7 children present. Licensee states there are no firearms or ammunition stored on site. No prohibited equipment will be allowed or used in the home. No baby bouncers, No infant walkers, No Johnny jumpers, No saucer chairs, No trampolines and any other item that falls into that category are not permitted in the facility. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep , as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/ , and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.87, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Continue on LIC809C Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview the Licensee confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. The licensee provided proof of control of property. Because the licensee rents/leases the home, proof of landlord notification is required. The LPA observed the Property Owner/Landlord Notification form (LIC9151) that the LICENSEE confirms was provided to the property owner/landlord. The LICENSEE obtained a signed Property Owner/Landlord Consent form (LIC 9149). To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided.
