What the inspector wrote

On March 28, 2025 at 4:04 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Elizabeth George and Bill Billones conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection of the above-mentioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH) with regard adding an additional outdoor play yard. LPAs met with Licensee Amanda Luna and explained the nature and purpose of the inspection. LPAs note 2 children are present along with an Assistant (cleared and associated, spouse) providing care and supervision. LPAs toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH with the Licensee. Day-care room, one bathroom and one outdoor play yard are licensed areas of the home. LPAs note the home is clean and orderly. Further, LPAs observed child safety gates at the entries of the bedrooms and the living room of the home. Licensee's CPR/ First Aid expires on 8/1/25 and the Mandated Reporter Certification expired on 11/11/23. The home's smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were observed. The one additional outdoor play yard (side yard) to be licensed is fully enclosed with the gates secured. Toys and equipment are age appropriate and in good conditions. LPAs observed a porta potty in the outdoor play area which licensee states is the main bathroom for the children. LPAs informed licensee the bathroom in the home will be required to stay licensed. Discussed with Licensee the importance of continuing to make sure that items that could be hazardous to children, including those that indicate "KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN" are made inaccessible to children. Outdoor play area is approved for use by day care. Licensee was made aware that it is her responsibility to know the regulations for Family Child Care Home which can be accessed on-line at www.cdss.ca.gov . Continued on 809-C, Page 2. During today's inspection one Type B citation was issued and can be found on the attached 809-D. Notice of Site visit and appeal rights were provided to Licensee. Notice of site visit must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements may result in a civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Amanda Luna.
