What the inspector wrote

On 10/20/2025 at 2:30 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection of the above-mentioned home and met with Licensee, Jessica Barajas. LPA discussed the purpose and nature of the inspection. FCCH hours of operation is from Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM serving children from 6 months old to 13 years of age. LPA, in the company of Licensee toured the interior and exterior of the home. LPA observed 8 children in care under the supervision of Licensee and assistant The home is a single-story residence with 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms. The areas accessible to children include, home\342\200\231s family room, dining room, fenced back yard, one bathroom and the living area which was previously off limit is now being used. The bedroom that was used as napping area is no longer accessible. The bathroom used by children in care is observed to be clean and free of toxins. cleaning solutions are kept in the garage and sharps are secured in the kitchen cabinet, while medication is kept in the master's bedroom. The aforementioned items will be inaccessible to children. The home has working telephone services. LPA observed a fire extinguisher (2A10BC) in the home which was purchased on 5/19/2025. LPA reminded licensee of the responsibility to service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. Combination smoke/carbon monoxide detector located in the home's living space was tested and found to be operable. The backyard is enclosed with a wooden fencing No bodies of water were observed on site. Licensee confirmed that there is a gun in the that is locked in the area inaccessible to children and there is no ammunition in the home. LPA's record review revealed Licensee and Assistant's Mandated Reporter training was completed on 10/16/2025 (expires on 10/16/2026) and Pediatric CPR/First Aid (EMSA approved) training was completed on 10/11/25 (expires on (10/11/27). Licensee, was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home.A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. During the exit interview, the LICENSEE, Jessica Barajs confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. During today's inspection, no deficiencies were cited under CCR Title 22 Division 12 and Health and Safety Code. Technical Violation was issued. A notice of site visit was given to Licensee and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Jessica Barajas LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee, the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee is not providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
