What the inspector wrote

On February 18, 2026 at 11:46 AM Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Fernando Hernandez & Izak Diaz conducted an unannounced Case Management - Change of Capacity inspection at the above-mentioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Licensee Cynthia Arreola and discussed the purpose of the inspection. At the time of the inspection 1 child was present along with Assistant (cleared and associated). LPA in the company of the Licensee toured the FCCH both inside and outside. Licensee utilizes the living room, dining room, (1) bathroom, (2) bedrooms, and enclosed backyard for childcare areas. Remainder of the home is excluded from childcare services. LPA observed off limit rooms to be inaccessible by means of child safety door knob covers and child safety gates. LPA observed the home to be clean and orderly. The bathroom used for care was observed to be clean and free of toxins. LPA observed a fire extinguisher that satisfies regulation (2A10BC) that was purchased 01/26/26. LPA reminded Licensee the responsibility to service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. Licensee and assistants Mandated Reporter Training certifications were observed and found current. Licensee\342\200\231s Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification are current and expire 07/15/2026. LPA observed a smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector in the home which were tested at 11:58 AM and found functional. Licensee stated there are no firearms and ammunition. LPA observed no bodies of water. The Licensee submitted documentation for a change of capacity on 02/10/2026. The Licensee is seeking to change the FCCH\342\200\231s capacity from 8 to 14. A fire clearance was granted by the Santa Maria Fire Department on 02/17/26. CONTINUED ON LIC809-C PAGE 2 Licensee obtained a signed landlord consent document(LIC9149). landlord Consent is granted. Change of capacity from 8 to 14 children is approved, effective today 02/18/2026. No deficiencies were cited during todays inspection. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee, Cynthia Arreola.
